Thoughts on Georgia-Vandy

  • On Gameday, Corso and Herbstreit talked about the character the Dawgs have shown this season while discussing today’s game.  Someone at the AJC will talk about how ‘The Celebration’ has forever tainted the game and that ESPN should stop being apologists for Georgia.
  • Mark May will laugh at Corso and Herbstreit’s comments tonight; will call Georgia the biggest joke since the 1916 Cumberland Bulldogs.
  • Nice job on kickoff coverage.
  • Will anyone ever block the will linebacker on our naked bootleg plays?
  • The Dawgs have played right into Vandy’s game plan by leaving points on the field.
  • Any chance we have more than 6 plays in the book?
  • It ‘feels’ like the defense is just waiting for something good to happen for them.  The scheme is very vanilla and very ‘defensive’.
  • What is with the soul crushing drives, but not until the 4th quarter?
  • Another drive that bogs down, more questions about scheme inside the red zone.
  • Overall, a ‘just enough’ effort in what feels like a game that the coaches were pulling out just enough out to win.
  • Turnovers will cure what ills you.
  • AJ Green will be in the Heisman conversation one day, if he keeps making plays like the first touchdown catch.
  • Very little is funnier than watching Kirk Herbstreit call the hogs.
  • Terrence Moore should be happy after the drive sustaining interference call at the end of the first half.
  • I guess it is youth, but we project some of our plays an awful lot.
  • Overall, a game that was close, but never felt like it.

It’s funny to look at the way the defense played…four dropped INTs, several (questionable) pass interference calls and Bryan Evans got burned twice for TDs, but when you look at the numbers, the Dawgs did a great job of hemming up the ‘Dores.

A Georgia Dawg in the Mid-West alone with his thoughts.

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
