Ellerbe and Chandler – will they or won’t they?

The AJC’s injury report indicates that Ellerbe and Chandler are ‘iffy’ for the LSU game.  There is also a ‘nothing’ part of the story about Walsh and his misses.

The most interesting piece of the article provides some insight into the use of a Prince Miller-Logan Gray switcheroo on punt returns.

On punt returns, Richt said Georgia has settled on junior Prince Miller as “the main guy,” with redshirt freshman Logan Gray to be used mostly in field-position situations that tend to result in fair catches or letting the ball go.

Richt trusts Logan Gray’s decision making more.  I get that.  I hadn’t noticed the usage pattern, but it seems to me that giving that choice away might give up too much in terms of punt return vs. punt block packages.  Of course, I haven’t ever won an SEC championship, so what do I know.  Just something that came to mind.

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
