Game week notes from around the blogs

  • BCS Guru thinks Southern Cal’s national championship hopes are in trouble.  I agree.
  • PWD is off the Internets. Luckily Quinton is picking up the slack with the Pulpwood report.
  • Sen. Blutarsky likes some of what he is seeing from the Dawgs in his weekly look at what it takes to play in the SEC Championship game.  He is concerned about some of the indicators from the defensive side of the ball.
  • The Mumme Poll will be a day late next week due to Tulsa’s Sunday night game.  I proposed we agree that Tulsa should never be ranked, and now Springdale parents are asking for a meeting with my boss.  I’m not inclined to give it to them.  I’ll post my ballot generally on the same schedule as the Senator.
  • Nittany White Out is happy the nation thinks Penn State will beat Ohio State.  I am happy I didn’t watch Kyle’s National Game of Disinterest to find out.
  • Orson thinks Penn State is doomed (warning, he doesn’t like Jim Delany at all).
  • Mike Leach may make his regular kickers walk the plank.  I don’t see it happening, but what if this kid actually makes a game winner this week after getting ‘iced’ with a very last second time out.  Maybe coaches will stop pulling that.  Except against FSU.  You always ice the kicker against FSU.
  • David Ching thinks this week is the first real test for the O-line.
  • David Hale has an update on Kiante Tripp.
  • Dr. Saturday thinks T. Boone Pickens is finally getting his money’s worth in Stillwater.
  • Blogging Pantsless gives us a humorous look at LSU’s season to date.
  • Checkout Dawgbone.  They’ve got it all.

A Georgia Dawg in the Mid-West alone with his thoughts.

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
