A cautionary note

Go read Get the Pictures’ thoughts on stopping Georgia Tech’s offense. Then look at Paul Westerdawgs’ thoughts on the Georgia Tech/Miami game.  Consider both of their thoughts in the context of what happened in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech ran completely over Miami in their 41-23 win.  The Hurricanes gave up 472 yards rushing to Tech.  Now I am not ready to say Miami has a great run defense.  They went into the game ranked number 14 in rushing defense giving up just shy of  104 yards per game.  The number 15 team has given up 104.55 yards per game.  Number 15 is the Georgia Bulldogs.   I will say that the ACC’s rushing offenses are less potent than the SEC’s (the ACC has six teams averaging more than 130 yds/game, with the SEC having eight teams averaging that much).

The one thing I will say is that this game will provide a very good film study for Georgia’s defense in the coming week.

A Georgia Dawg in the Mid-West alone with his thoughts.

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
