Things I think about

  • Does USC root for Oregon or Oregon State this weekend?  While the fan wants an outright Pac10 title, getting to go to a major bowl game other than the Rose Bowl and play a team from a conference other than the Big 10 is a pretty big deal, considering the amount of press they’ve gotten about how the Pac 10 is weak this year.
  • Did the LSU/Ole Miss game make the likelihood of Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl a possibility?
  • Did Charlie Wies’ college coaching career end on Saturday?
  • Any chance the ACC champion has fewer than 4 losses?
  • How does Boise State get a higher ranking than Georgia, Ohio State, Missouri and Oklahoma State?  Yeah, they have a better record, but I just can help but to think they couldn’t beat any of those four teams.
  • Any chance the Orange Bowl gets less than 40000 fans?  If it is Wake and Cincy, you better believe it will be that empty.
  • If Lane Kiffin goes to Tennessee, does he have to go on a weight gain plan?
  • Which is more important for Florida, beating FSU or beating Alabama in the SEC championship?
  • It’ll be interesting to see if Utah’s regular season ending this early is as a big a deal for their bowl game preparation as the Big 10’s season ending this early.  Much is made of the early ending of the Big 10.
  • Will Tech fans have the nerve to run their mouths about playing in their conference championship game if they get beaten at Georgia this weekend?  Wait, I’ll handle this one…yes, they will.

I’d say 75% of USC fans want Oregon State to win, 25% don’t, and that’s only b/c they have unrealistic views of just how bad our National Title game chances are.

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
