Season in a nutshell

I’ll have a more in depth look at the Tech game later this week.  I have followed PWD’s advice and am currently trying to put together my thoughts in a way that doesn’t involve invectives and three dollar words.  And typed slurring.

However, Corey Irvin’s quote:

“We lost our edge in the second half,” senior defensive tackle Corvey Irvin said. “In the first half, we were all over the field having fun and I guess we kind of lost our composure. I guess we thought we had the game wrapped up in our pocket but we really didn’t.”

sums up the whole season in a nutshell.  Great play followed by a lack of focus that leads to missed opportunites and big time screw ups.  Actually, this is a theme the past 36 or so games (since the start of 2006, save a few great games last year), so it is hard to say it is just this season.

I hate this for the seniors, especially Mo Mass.  He absolutely laid it all out, making awesome catches and doing all that he could to make this a win.  Staff, save one pass that was totally inexplicable, did a good job of game managment and showed why he could be a top 10 draft pick if he decides to leave.

For now, I’ll sign off for the long drive north.

Go Dawgs.

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
