Paging Dr. Hekyll

The men’s basketball team continued the ways last night, by beating a tough Virginia Tech squad at home 67-66.  After the last couple of performances, I honestly expected the Hokies to put it to the Dawgs.  PWD noted the road vs. home nature of this team.

Before you go saying, yeah, but they are only 5-4, they had lost three games before last night by a total of seven points to an undefeated Xavier team that looks to be the class of the A-10, a 7-1 Seton Hall team (who beat Southern Cal and took Memphis deep before falling apart late) and a 7-2 Wisconsin team that might scare Minnesota for the Big Ten title.

They won, despite being behind (but close) all night and really got after it on the boards, with 41 rebounds.

The Dawgs next face Wofford on December 20th in Athens.

Go Dawgs!

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
