Jimmy Sexton – He’s just that good

Jimmy Sexton, unwilling to relinquish his hold on the SEC, gets another coach in as Auburn head coach.

Sexton, who already represents several SEC coaches, has absolutely played Jay Jacobs like a bass drum.  First, Tubberville ‘resigns’ and walks out with the entire $5.1 mil left on his contract.  Then Sexton casually floats Houston Nutt’s name as a possible successor to Tubberville in Auburn, netting Nutt a new contract to the tune of $2.5mil a year. Then he manages to get another client hired in at Auburn.  Oh, by the way, he also managed to get Will Muschamp a nice raise and a cool title in Austin this year.

He also represents new Syracuse coach Doug Marrone, some guy in Tuscaloosa who has had a good year and Tennessee’s new coach.

I wonder if Jay Jacobs got any magic beans with this deal?

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
