Lady Dawgs upsets Vandy

Ashley Houts lead the Lady Dawgs in their biggest win of the season last night.  Houts dropped 18 points and Angel Robinson added 17 and 14 boards in the 66-55 win at Stegman over the 17th ranked Commodores (or Lady Commodores or Commodorettes or whatever).  Georgia’s win leaves Auburn as the only undefeated team in conference play.

Finally, the promise of playing tough defense and having solid ball protection is fullfilled.  I look for Coach Landers’ team to put together a solid run despite some tough games left, including two against Auburn, a road game against the Lady Vols and a season ender against 15th ranked Florida in Athens.  This, however, is the kind of win that gets a bubble team noticed in the dark cigar Virginia Slim smoke filled conference room somewhere in middle America in March.

The Lady Dawgs are in action again on Sunday at Alabama.

A Georgia Dawg in the Mid-West alone with his thoughts.

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
