Braves lead the East, Braves lead the East!

Rufino Linares was the last Brave before Jordan Schafer to open the season as a starter in his big league debut.  I think Schafer one uped him pretty good.  2 for 3 with a HR in his first at bat.  Nice work.

I won’t see many Braves games, now that TBS is ‘very funny’ (aside from Family Guy, I beg to differ), but it was good to see somethings never change.  Mike Gonzalez would make coffee nervous and there were at least two occasions that Mrs. The Dean yelled “What are you waiting for, Bobby!?!” in response to Gonzalez’ pitches.  We might be in a Lowe and Jurrjens and pray for something rotation for awhile, but I like the way the season started, especially against a team the Braves were 4-14 against in 2008.  Nice pop in the bats, solid hitting by Francour and Anderson and Kotchman made a couple of good catches at first.

All in all, a nice way to take a 1/2 game lead on the division.

Don’t get me wrong. I could look at Leah Remini all day. However, I have a strict no Stiller rule (aside from ‘Something about Mary,’ ‘Dodgeball’ and Seinfeld) and Kevin James is just Jim Belushi, with lighter colored hair and no co-staring role with Ahnold. I just never got the show, I guess.

Eh, she’ll always be Stacey Carosi who worked at the Malibu Sands during the summertime episodes of Saved by the Bell.

I always think of her as Zack’s girlfriend too, although I never watched King of Queens.

BBQ, Ball and Bets

There's nothing like a sunny fall afternoon, pork BBQ (with mustard sauce, of course!), a pregame tailgate, and...betting online. You heard me right. With a laptop and an internet connection you can check the odds of any game from the 50 yard line. Now that's convenience and will make your tailgate all the more interesting when some dude mentions just how much of a good bet a certain game is.
